How Types Work in PokéGuess

Every Pokémon has a primary type (Type 1) and, for many, a secondary type (Type 2). This isn't a battle-effectiveness guide — our dataset doesn't include type-matchup data, so this page sticks to what the game actually uses: how a guessed type compares to the answer's Type 1 and Type 2 slots.

A type cell turns green for an exact slot match, yellow when your guess matches the answer's other slot, and gray otherwise. Across the full 1,025-species dataset, 499 Pokémon have a single type and 526 have two.

Counts below are drawn from the full 1,025-species POKEDEX (generation 1–9); examples are pulled from the 440-species daily-answer pool (generations 1–4) for relevance to what you'll actually be guessing against day to day.
